Hola Familia!
Bueno, estoy aquí in Nueva Aurora. Its pretty cool. Lots of hills. Its really different working here, because its definitely more of a city. Whereas Limache was pretty much campo and Ovalle was like...well... Ovalle was just Ovalle. So the works been a little different. But its FREAKING GORGEOUS. you can see all the way from Valparaíso to like Con Con (north of Viña) from my sector. Sometimes i really feel like im in San Francisco or San Diego. Like right now, because we go down into centro to do internet and stuff. when we got off the micro i felt like i was walking down a street in San Diego or San Francisco.
The Barrio is pretty cool. We had about 100 people on sunday, which is good. A lot of the members seem anxious to help out and give us references, which is good. We´ve gotta couple investigators. One is going to get baptized on December 4. He´s really cool. He´s working as a doctor and like two weeks ago got married to a member. So, when we taught about the law of chastity and la palabra de sabiduría...he acepted it all and understood it really well. He´s awesome. Yesterday for almuerzo the hermana gave us pastel de papas....like a chilean version of shepherds pie, lets just say i thought of paws and sister waltons shepherds pie. haha. AND theres a convert in this barrio of like two years whos leaving for the mission this week. his name is Luis Felipe and he´s going to.......ARGENTINA CORDOBA. I told him he had to look for peter.
My companion is Elder Zaldaña from El Salvador. He´s pretty cool. he turns a year old in the mission this week. Its actually kinda funny...because hes pretty blanco, like más que me. Definitely has some spanish blood in him. We get along pretty well, he sings songs in english a lot...its pretty fun. OH so our pencion, we live with the elders of esperanza, who are: Elder Hyer from Homedale, ID and Elder Ballantyne from McKinney, TX (he´s in the hammonds ward). It´s been pretty fun. I guess you could say I´m living with my cousin. haha.
Bah, im so annoyed because on change day (martez) we had to take a micro from Limache to Viña. So lets imagine shall we....seven missionaries (three of which were getting transferred) and like probably 7 or 8 bags on this little micro bus AND its the during the morning when everyone is going into viña and villa alemana to work and study and stuff. oh my gosh it was hilarious I really wanted to take a picture of us sitting on this bus with all our stuff....but i missed the oportunidad. Lame. it was pretty funny though.
Hmm...so christmas. what would actually be the coolest thing ever would be this:
church dvds: the restoration, testaments, legacy, between heaven and earth, special witnesses of christ, together forever, if the joseph smith movie is on dvd that´d be sweet too. Actually just any cool church dvd that can be viewed in spanish. AND then to save space....buy like a cd case and then just put the dvds in that...that way i don´t have to deal with cases and what not. some music would be cool too. mormon tabernacle choir or any like...cd with like hymns and stuff on it. maybe another memory card for my camera...one thats "SD" (my camera is old and won´t read all memory cards, hence those ones you sent me before, sorry i didn´t realize). and then some ties would be nice. my companion, we have cambios like the week before christmas, so im not sure what to do about that one. personally i wouldn´t mind some ties to give to him. just because everybody likes to get new ties. And yes i am in Viña so i should be able to get mail like every week because the mission office is behind the stake center (where we have zone meeting). and as of now i have not recieved that package mom...maybe tomorrow.
Sounds like everything is going well back home. stupid southlake. even though it was only CSU thats cool for BYU. thats lame about Utah, dropping from number 5 to 23. tcu would almost lose to san diego state. and auburn or oregon need to lose so that tcu or bsu can be in the NC.
I´ve actually been pondering about if i can look at alisas blog. i don´t think im going to though. maybe ill ask president at my next interview. haha. well i hope all is well in texas. And in Nampa and the other various parts where people read this. I got mail the Hall´s and from Devon. GRACIAS. say hi to people for me. i love you all. i don´t think there was anything else i wanted to say. thanks for the email dave. andy i hope you get that job. and no i did not go the worldwide leadership meeting but the obispo told me theres been changes with stuff. should be pretty cool. Dave what schools did you apply too? Well i love you all. the gospel is true, and even though life isn´t always going to be easy....it makes the difference. Happy almost thanksgiving!
