Hola Familia y Amigos.
Bueno, here is the update for this week.
Vannia- WENT TO CHURCH. It was awesome. She liked it, but her doubt is accepting prophets. she said she just never had really thought about the importance of the prophets and apostles. But, she liked Church. So we will see what happens. And some members invited her to a Noche de Hogar. so that will be good.
Miriam, Antonio, Catalina, Matias- THE WHOLE FAMILY CAME TO CHURCH. It was awesome. They loved it. Miriam is so awesome. She stopped smoking on friday and hasn't smoked since. we're praying that everything goes well so that she can baptized on February 12 and hopefully with her family. I love this family. they are so awesome. Miriam is totally changing. She said that the spirit of their home has changed since the day when we talked in the street.
Nancy- AHH. Tambien she went to church. And she was so excited to be in Chruch. She actually helped out a lot with Vannia. If she gets married, she will be baptized on February 12 as well. We're praying that everything salga bien with the marriage. She is so awesome, she definitely has changed a lot since I got here to La Calera.
Dayna- Also went to church. She's doing really good, they just have to get everything for their wedding on February 10. We are hoping and praying that everything salga bien. We are SOO close with her and Franco (the bishops son....we have a really good friendship with him).
Ema- Didn't go to church, but accepted a fecha bautismal for the 19 of february! She is super cool but needs lots of support. We have taught her husband and son too...hopefully we can get them as a family progressing. it would be super sweet.
Maria- Don't know her, Elder Lopez put a fecha bautismal with her in the street when i was in quillota on intercambios and when we called her to invite her to church she couldn't come. But we have a cita with her on martes. so we will see what happens.
Joselyn- We also put a fecha with her in the street, we have a cita with her on miercoles. We will see what happens, she was receptive when we talked to her in the street.
Yesterday was really good because we had lots of investigators at church. and when you are in a ward with an asistance of like 50, the members notice si lots of investigatores come to church. They usually get really excited about it too. So, in your own wards I invite to pay attention to the new faces in sacrament meeting and to ask the missionaries if investigatores came and what you can do to help. and above all...SAY HI to the new people.
Sounds like things are good back home. Dave, I love that picture. I have been waiting to see an FMHS shirt here in Chile. But i guess you seeing one in mexico is good enough. haha. So today and last monday i had to renew my carnet and visa. last monday i was in PDI (policia de investigaciones....basically the FBI of Chile). It was fun. And then this morning in registro civil (like going to the DMV....like a lot like DMV....lines and understaffed. haha). But now I am legal and everything. which is good, because my carnet expired in like september but I couldn't go get a new one until I the office had renewed my visa and everything. so now i am legal and can leave the country without any problems.
The only other thing out of the ordinary that happened this week is that on tuesday night I went to start an intercambio with Elder Arredondo. We are in the house at like 10:30 planning when the hermanas call us. one of them was really sick and had been throwing up like all day. so they ask if we can come and give a blessing of salud. so we went (with permission of President of course) at 11:00 pm to the hermanas house. talk about one of the weirdest experiences of my mission. For those of you who don't know much about LDS missions....we have lots of "rules" about who can come into our apartments etc. Elders do not enter apartments of the hermana (sister) missionaries and vice versa....let alone at 11 at night. so visiting the house of four hermanas was a little out of the ordainary. but we gave the blessing and the hermana has felt a lot better this week.
Bueno, apart from that nothing much is happening here in La Calera. except that it is hot. this week should be good, we have conference on miercoles. yes. i love conferences.
