Hola.
So it's monday again. that's weird.
this week was pretty good. we found a ton of new investigators, so hopefully we will be able to start putting some fechas bautismales.
i saw some pictures of the new stake center, its pretty. sounds like your trip to germany should be fun. and its fine mom that you are getting all the christmas stuff together....they had christmas stuff out here in the stores before halloween. oh, by the way, apparently the paros stopped, as in everyone has gone back to the universities. i don't think they ever came to a conclusion though, but now all the college kids will be in school until like febrero instead of finishing in december. that'd be pretty lame...in my opinion. So on thursday we were going to have a conference. but on everything changed and now on friday the WHOLE mission is going to be in viña for a special conference with a general authority. we never have all mission conferences, so this rare because the northern zones all coming down and those of us in the interior all have to go to viña. word on the street is that one of the 12 Apostles is going to be there =) should be pretty cool.
For those of you who are not familiar with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are the restored Church of Jesus Christ. And the bible teaches us that Christ's primitive church had 12 apostles (Peter, John, James etc). We believe that Christ again has called 12 apostles, because without them you cannot have the Church of Jesus Christ (Efesios 2:19-20). So to help you understand a little bit more... on friday if there is an Apostle at our conference it would be a bit like going and listening to John or Peter of Santiago speak. Pretty cool if you ask me. If you want more information about it is that we modern day apostles and prophets, click here.
Speaking of the restoration, this week i was studying the restoration, mainly about the apostacy, the Joseph Smith story and the restoration of the priesthood. It was interesting, I know that the Christ's Church and his authority was lost after his and the death of the apostles. But this authority and Christ's church are his gospel are essential to our salvation, that is why God prepared the way for the Church to be restored. in 1820 He and his son Jesus Christ appeared to a 14 year-old boy who, through prayer, faithfully asked for direction regarding what church to join. I know without doubt that Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw. He was called to be a prophet (like Moses, Noah etc). Through him Christ was able to restore the fulness of his Gospel and his priesthood authority to earth. How is it that I know this? Because i studied and prayed, i wanted to know. It was interesting that day when i was studying, i didn't understand why i was recieving so many spiritual confirmations about the truthfulness of the Restoration until later that day when we had the opportunity to teach the restoration in four different houses. Heavenly Father needed to strengthen my testimony so that I would be able to testify of these things to other people. Heavenly Father prepares the way for everything. He prepared the world for the restoration. He prepares his modern-day apostles and prophets. He prepares his children to recieve the message of the restored-gospel and more personally, he prepares those that teach it. This is the work of the God. not the work of Elder Hyer. Not the work of President Gillespie ni si quiera the work of Thomas S. Monson or Joseph Smith, it is the work of our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, the savior of the world.
and with that, i gotta. have a great week! and a safe trip to germany!
