"¿puedo orinar aqui?" Feliz 2011

Hola Familia.

This past week was pretty cool. The sector is improving a little bit which is good. Little by Little.

Yeah, so...Let me tell you about New Years Eve:

So me and Elder Vasquez felt that we should go do some finding down in this part of our sector where we´ve never really worked before. So we went down (literally) to this one part of the sector and started talking with the people in the streets, the families in the houses etc. We weren´t having loads of success. But there was this guy outside on his patio and we started talking to him. he said he didn´t want to talk about religion but that we could talk about other stuff. So after a few minutes he looks at us and says "van a pasar" like, he didnt understand why we were still on the other side of the fence talking to him. So we enter his patio and talk some more. Its really interesting how just having a conversation with someone somehow brings up religion. Everyone once and while he would ask a question and we would answer. So hes making this asado (bbq). And his family is inside. His wife walks out and is like by the way theres places set at the table for you guys. So basically we get invited to eat this legit new years eve dinner/asado with this family we had never even met. One of the coolest expierences ever. It was cool. They leave for vacations for like two weeks but said that we were always welcome...so maybe in algunas semanas we'll have something.

So then we arrive at the pencion at like 1030 (yeah...we were a little late...). So we then at like 11 we leave with the elders from Esperanza to go see the fireworks from the capilla of esperanza. they have an amazing view of Viña and Valpo. The fireworks were really cool. They say that in terms of the show its the biggest new years eve firework show in the world and the third best (technologically speaking). But its cool they have these boats out in the water from Valpo all the way to ConCon just shooting off fireworks for like 25 minutes. The funny thing is that you just watch them from anywhere so no real countdown.  But at like 11:56 or so all the barges and ships in the port and out in the water start blowing their horns. It was cool. and then at 12 the fireworks start. So that was new years eve.

Then new years day everyone was dead. EVERYTHING was closed. Unlike Christmas. Kinda interesting in that sense. and like random drunk people walking around. This one person asked me and my companion if it was ok to go pee where he was standing. then a few minutes later he was talking himself and it seemed like he couldn´t remember if it was the 18 of September (Chilean Independence) or Año Nuevo. Oh drunk people.

Well sounds like Christmas and everything is winding down. I´m glad that TCU won. GO FROGS. Dad, I have no idea what earthquake you´re talking about. I heard there was a big one in like Northern Argentina. Apparently there was a really short but strong tremor on the first here in Viña. but we didn´t feel it.

Well I´m excited for this year. Even though im sure how i feel about writing 2011. i think it looks funny. but this is going to be a good year. say hi to everyone. i don´t think i have time to write anyone else today. and this computer is weird and not wanting to upload pictures. so you might not get any fotos today either.
